Persephone
I mean what really happened down there with Hades, that she ate some juicy fruit and then she now has to go back there and stay four months while things go dry up here on earth?
Dry and cold and dead. Because her mother cried so hard she forgot to tend the important things like her plants for survival of humanity?
Greek mythology is great. The story of Heracles or Hercules is is one for sure. In movies, they left out the part where he killed his kids before his great feats..jeez! Golden fleece my ass, it just looks that way in the sun, dummy! All they were were, golden haired sheep!
Persephone was alone with her flowers when Hades took her raped her because he could and her mom cried because her daughter was abducted.
Wait!
When they finally find her all comfy she has already eaten of the food of the underworld which are four pomegranate seeds.
I can see the rituals here. my mom kicked over a glass of wine when we left Greece for the last time to live here on the best little place on earth.
I am sure Persephone ate more than four little seeds. that guy was hot.
In real life rapists are not hot!
We should hear her story..sadly, we know she willingly went back for 4 months every year, after her duties to her mother Demeter , as they were both in charge of food on Earth..Food and Flowers! This tells me a lot!
Mothers need to let go. Stop over mothering and make sure you tell your girl to carry a knife. Then again this Hades fellow was a god.
Hades may have asked her, she may have lied about the whole thing and said to her mother that he took her instead she willingly went because his skin and hair smelled all musky and warm. His cloak was inviting and he had only eyes for her it would seem. these ideas, I ponder on.
We can even say that by today's standards, we should not judge past beliefs. We really should.
Four Months of the year to ponder on
to plan and to pull the roots and debris that gets caught
rip them out and clear a path to the sun shiny happiness which you always deserve
four months to stop and rest and first and do what aught be :)) carried on :))
four moths a year to tidy up your tidings and say kind words leading kinder thoughts you might be hiding.
